Scurrying is all about fun and working in partnership with your dog. The rules are simple:  Send your dog to find and return the hidden dummy to hand in the fastest time.

Training for scurry and working with your dog taps into the dogs natural marking and retrieving instinct and does not take itself as seriously as field trials or other working dog tests.

Not just for spaniels any dog with an instinct to hunt and retrieve can have a go. 

 

You don't need to shoot or even own tweeds, although many gun dog owners use scurrying as a way to keep their dogs mentally and physically agile outside the shooting season.

You don't need to be in peak physical condition yourself, many people with mobility issues find this a great way of working with and keeping their dog stimulated and well exercised.

In addition we will be running a number of fun 'Scurry days' in 2019 which you will be invited to allowing you to meet other dogs and their owners and compete in a fun, friendly way.

Yes scurrying is great fun for you and your dog, but what happens when you get the bug, where can  you take it?

You may have seen a scurry  at a game fair or a charity event and they happen across the country with The Chudley's Gundog Championship being the pinnacle. Qualifying events are held across the country with the Grand Final taking place at the Midland Game Fair in front of a discerning crowd.
